Project Details

Name: Hand Pump Project –Al Ghuwairi Charity Foundation

Community: Jamasi, Sekyere South District, Ashanti Region, Ghana

About Jamasi Community

Jamasi faces significant water-access challenges. The area’s underlying granitic bedrock has low natural water-holding capacity, which makes boreholes difficult to sustain unless drilling intersects fractured zones. As a result, residents rely heavily on a limited number of hand-pump wells, which are often overcrowded, especially in the early morning when many households fetch water.

Borehole Technical Specifications

  1. Borehole Depth: 30 meters
  2. Pump Type: Hand pump
  3. Water Quality Test:Conducted by Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to ensure the water meets national drinking water standards.
