Community: Bipoa Mango Ase, Sekyere South District, Ashanti Region, Ghana

About Bipoa Mango Ase Community

Bipoa Mango Ase has long struggled to secure a stable source of clean water. The community depends mainly on shallow and seasonal water sources that often dry up during the harmattan and dry seasons. Because these sources are unreliable, residents are sometimes forced to walk long distances to neighbouring communities to obtain water.

In addition, the few existing boreholes in the area produce low yields during certain months due to limited groundwater recharge, making daily water collection challenging for many households. Water quality has also been a concern, as open sources are easily contaminated by surface runoff and nearby human activities. These challenges make access to clean and dependable drinking water a daily struggle for the people of Bipoa.
