Yereso is a small rural farming community located in the Nsuta-Mampong Municipal area of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The residents depend largely on agriculture for their livelihoods. Like many rural settlements in the municipality, Yereso has long faced challenges in accessing clean and reliable water. Before the construction of this project, community members relied on seasonal streams and shallow wells, which frequently dried up during the dry season and posed health risks due to contamination. The lack of potable water affected domestic activities, sanitation, and general well-being—especially for women and children, who often had to travel long distances in search of water. The newly drilled solar-powered artesian borehole has therefore brought great relief to the community by providing a consistent and safe water supply, improving both health and living conditions.
