About the Kadeleso Community:

Kadeleso is a rural community in the Kintampo North Municipal District of the Bono East Region of Ghana. The community faces significant challenges accessing safe, clean drinking water, particularly during dry seasons. Many households rely on distant or unsafe water sources, which affects both human health and livestock well-being. Access to safe water is limited, and the community’s livelihoods are impacted by the scarcity of clean water.

Borehole Technical Specifications

  1. Borehole Depth:

    130 metres (artesian borehole).

  2. Solar Power System:

    Direct PV Pump System with total capacity 2,000 W, consisting of:

    Solar panels (PV): 300 550 W each.

    Hybrid DC controller: 80 200 V, IP68 insulation, thermal class F, 2,000 W capacity, 0–17 A, with float switch for water-level control.

     Solar pump: 1,100 W, flow rate 10 litres per minute, head 70 (80–160 metres), 2.0 HP.

3. Water Tank: One metallic tank of 10 m³ capacity.

4. Tank Platform: Made of 8-inch diameter steel pipes, 17 feet high for stability and durability.

    5. Water Distribution Area: Fitted with six (6) taps for easy community access.

    6. Livestock Watering Trough: Dedicated trough providing water for both humans and animals.


    7. Protective Fencing: Wire-mesh fence surrounding the tank, solar panels, and borehole area for safety and sustainability.


    8. Water Quality Test: Conducted and approved by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to meet national drinking water standards.

    9. Lighting System:

    Six (6) solar floodlights installed around the borehole and water distribution area to provide illumination and security at night.
